@johnjohnston Thanks for posting these summaries. They really help me a lot. Also I'm amazed at how much you pack in within the character limit. It's like a neat game.
@bradenslen heh, that drove me mad as I've a function to remove titles for posts <280 chars and it looks like php sees the codes as more than one char, so I need to work round that.
@johnjohnston I’ve taken to composing my posts with placeholders (P for photos, T for the map, etc.) for counting purposes and then find/replace the emoji in. Surely someone (besides Manton) has written a counter function that counts “characters” rather than just Unicode code points… (I’m starting to give myself nightmares of writing an NSString extension… :-P )
@smokey I hope I’ve sorted it by repurposing @mdhughes’s remove fake emoji script I’ve detailed here micro whoops. I think I am the right track. Should know next week;-)
