Sitting at the breakfast table writing what will become a blog post on drop in audio.
Yes, it’s a new reMarkable “paper” tablet. I’m using it in the hopes of better deep reading and writing.
Except for a quick microblog to post a picture of it!

@boris My friend, who is most definitely not a techy person, raved to me earlier this week about this tablet. She said, “I fell so deep in love with this thing it straight up brings tears to my eyes...”
@mariovillalobos great! It’s definitely well done as digital paper in my brief experience so far.
@boris After seeing this post, I ordered a reMarkable tablet to use with work. I think it will be an excellent addition. Looks nice!
@boris dreaming up indie web's response to Clubhouse I see? Someone needs to implement an E2EE version.
@Alligator cool! I just started a page collecting resources. Haven’t experimented with any of the open source pieces yet bmannconsulting.com/remarkabl...
Please share your experiences when you get it!
@w4rner yup! The audio pieces at a basic level are here today. UX and the social graph and moderation are all the hard bits.
@boris Would be excited to be a part of that effort. Can offer UX feedback to anyone you know trying to build. Meanwhile, I've applied to start a Low-Code.Club (website coming there by Weds)
@w4rner just realized that this is on the picture of the tablet, not the finished blog post. See bmannconsulting.com/blog/2021... for what I’ve written up so far. Feedback welcome!
@boris Really interesting to read about Twitter audio as web's best chance. Never thought I'd be rooting for Twitter in any way lol! Have calendar'd your Clubhouse Event on Tues 23rd: love "how many times do we have to learn the lesson that closed systems don't work”. Speak then!

Looking forward to reading about your experiences. I bought a Boox Nova 2 last summer for the same reasons, to better read and write. While I am very pleased with the e-ink device and enjoy the reading (including magazines) and writing I do on it, I haven’t had much benefit from it yet in terms of a significantly higher volume / deeper form of reading, as my habits around it are still lacking.

@boris I finally received my reMarkable tablet! The engineering that went into this device is incredible, and I really enjoy using it. I'm constantly thinking of things to write down just so I can use it again!
Yo @boris sorry I missed your Clubhouse pal. How'd it go? I applied to make a Low-Code.Club still waiting on CH to accept!
@w4rner I rescheduled for next Wed March 3rd. Sign up in the updated blog post to get notified bmannconsulting.com/blog/2021...
@Alligator awesome! Ping me if you do more of a write up and also with any cool open source tools you end up using.
@boris Can't join then as on FirstWeek FlipPh.one 📴 | sub'd event in case you reschedule event or have future one | hope Luma don't spam my personal email
@w4rner it will literally be me spamming you! Other than notification emails that Luma auto sends ;)
I’ll probably do 2 more on different tools over the next little while.
@boris As in two Locations other than clubhouse, or clubhouse discussions about two other tools (In which case is there a specific tool you're focusing on the first one?)
@w4rner two other platforms! Probably at least one with Big Blue Button, one with my friends at Soapbox, and maybe Jam or Speakeasy.
