@grubz In one of his comedy routines, the late Bill Hicks said (and this was in the 1990s) it seems like the highest aspiration now is to shill some product. Now we have an internet that is 95% just that.

@grubz I like that here on micro.blog, we pay a reasonable price for a great product and are not subjected to a bunch of "monetized" bullshit. I think people should be paid for their work. Artists, etc. Everyone. While I don't really know about the fairness of the platform, I like to pay great creative people via Patreon, directly, for their work if I use it. It is nice to do that, as I have the means, and not constantly be marketed to.

The only thing that kinda scares me is that Manton is just one guy doing pretty much all of this. Like that's gotta be brutal at times. Manz at least needs an appreciation day or something lol
