I just spent 40 minutes on the phone scheduling phone battery replacement appointments with someone struggling with a software system. It would be about 400% easier if a) I was allowed to call the actual department that does the work or b) they wrote things on a piece of paper and handed it to them.

@bjhess one of my spiciest business takes is that most people would be happier at work if all instant messenger / slack / teams-style collaboration tools were replaced with old-fashioned inter-office mail that took a day to arrive.
