Now I’ve been banned from lobste.rs for the reason that I’m supposedly a duplicate user of someone else trying to post articles linking to their blog. It’s pretty clearly untrue, but moderation didn’t take 30 seconds to confirm my identity via my profile and comment history. Oof.
@bjhess Not a great introduction for a new user. My username is bjhess. My one comment was on an article of my own, saying I'm the author. My profile linked to my website (bjhess.com). Seriously.
Resolution is supposed to be through IRC chat to a room that appears abandoned. (I could be making a mistake here as I haven't touched IRC in a decade.) I did find an email, so we'll see if they resolve it or just ignore it because moderators usually like to ignore people claiming they shouldn't be banned.
@bjhess what is the short pitch of lobste.rs? It looks like a Reddit message board type site, but have not heard of it before, and didn’t see an about page.
@tuckerk I'm probably not the best to ask since I broke the rules 2 days after getting there. lol (STILL no response or reinstatement. I'm surprisingly angered by this. It's embarrassing.)
