I wish there was a standalone device, with a screen, that just does Music (streaming is fine)…. Nothing else. Does that exist? Something that would play to Airplay speakers.
@vincent There are quite a lot of set top boxes in that market. It’s a bit niche, though, so prices generally are a bit high. Especially if you want a screen-based solution. Here’s one link that rounds up a number of them https://www.whathifi.com/best-buys/streaming/best-music-streamers
@vincent A few years ago I made a similar device with a Raspberry Pi + screen. I thought I wrote something up about it, but I can’t find it. 😬 I ended up selling everything and chose to use an old iPhone with a lightning-to-USB connector into a DAC on my stereo.
@vincent I have been wanting something like this for a while. Am envious of my friend who still has a Logitech Squeezebox Touch running. You could probably pick one of those up on eBay, but I'm thinking of trying this project with a Raspberry Pi. Or you can go crazy with one of these from Volumio.
