I’m thinking about subscribing to Instapaper and Readwise to help me gather and manage text quotes and other tidbits. The former is a “classic” while the later seems a work in progress and not exactly easy to grasp for me. Your thoughts?

@numericcitizen I subscribed to Readwise this month after using it for the trial and have really been loving it. Using it mainly with my Kindle Oasis, but occasional articles too. I love the daily recap of quotes that it gives me, which only seems to get more valuable the more I save.

I admit, I’m torn on my Read Later solution. For right now, I’ve got articles sent to me weekly in a Mailbrew message, but I’ve also been toying with the Command browser as well, since it has built in highlighting with sync to Readwise.

@numericcitizen use both. They work well together. Readwise works with a wide range of sources (kindle, Apple Books, Twitter thread, manually created highlights). The image sharing feature is nice too.

@ohBananaJoe Pocket > Instapaper from what I’m experimenting.

@joshbrez I’m looking into Instapper and Pocket right now. The latter seems to be the leader. More frequent update, more features but close to twice as expensive as Instapaper. 😳

@numericcitizen I’ve used Instapaper on and off since Marco first created it. It’s my fall back, nothing else to read solution.

@numericcitizen I've used Instapaper for years, and prefer it to Pocket for just reading things (Pocket has other good features). I make a lot of article highlights and have used Readwise for the last few months to store them. The daily digest email of those highlights is just amazing for absorbing those details over time. Highly recommend it.
