@baldur As an owner of a (very small) tech company I would say that there are some very bad players, but that most companies building and maintaining software that keep businesses running are ethical. There's a lot of software running we don't see.
@ddykstal True. I'd like to change my statement to:
"Yet more evidence that VC-funded tech/software companies default to unethical behaviour"
Which I think is much more accurate.
@baldur You are probably right. VC funded companies have to make lots of money at IPO. Selling your data appears to be a reliable path to that. VC's wouldn't be interested in my company since the niche is a very steady and unglamorous one. Nothing explosive here, but we're also totally self-funded.
