I’m never posting directly on Twitter again, I don’t think, unless someone replies to me, that is.

@cambridgeport90 I haven't posted directly on Twitter or Mastodon in a couple of months now. Nobody knows the difference.

@ChangelingMx @cambridgeport90 I almost never post directly to Twitter, although I am still working out how to handle mastodon. It’s just not worth it at this point. Same with Facebook. I took the step of converting my Facebook profile into a page the other day just so I could automatically post to it, and interact with it as little as possible.

@arush I'm considering that. How is it working for you so far?

@arush My only issue with not posting directly to Mastodon is not being able to post CW's. How are you transferring the alt text from your site to things like Twitter? I keep missing that target.

@ChangelingMx I'm not able to transfer alt text to Twitter or Facebook, but I can to MB. In case of Twitter/FB/stupid closed platform that just has to make things I supplement with a description in the text of the post. BTW what are you using for the share to Mastodon feature on your website? I looked at it briefly to add the feed but didn't spend a bunch of time going through your source.

@ChangelingMx It seems to be working OK. I don't have to interact with Facebook unless there's activity on the posts, and right now I'm just OK with having to do less work until I can get people to switch from Facebook to their own domains.

@arush I have micro.blog cross-posting. It seems to be the most reliable in terms of formatting.

@arush I'll probably do that in the not-to-distant future.
