@simonwoods I don't know anything about Morgan, so I have no context, although I've heard the name. I take him at his word that he considers himself a liberal. Shapiro I never heard of. But what Morgan said in that clip is exactly what we have been decrying in social networks for quite awhile.

@bradenslen That interview of Piers Morgan by Ben Shapiro is the best thing I've seen on the Internet since Christopher Ricks appeared on the Open Source radio show, the first ever podcast, created by Christopher Lydon with the help of Dave Winer. What a breath of fresh air to see a sane discussion without one side trying to shout down the other. I marked it so I can watch it again later!

Missed that, I’m afraid, and that’s a pity. Ricks has probably been my favourite critic. Piers Morgan, on the other hand, is merely an embarrassment.

@artkavanagh I'm sorry to have posted something that made you feel bad. I really did find that podcast to be of very high quality, a helpful discussion of timely importance, and nothing that embarrassed me in any way. Perhaps I should refrain from posting any opinions on the Internet. I don't want to become known as a source of scary things.

@Ron No, I’m sorry to have given you the impression that I felt bad. My comment on Piers Morgan was just a throwaway, almost a reflex — my main reason for commenting was to note how tickled I was at the idea of Christopher Ricks on a podcast, which I know wasn’t the main point of your original reply to Brad, but I couldn’t resist saying something about it. Sorry for the confusion.

@artkavanagh No problem, Art. I agree with your thoughts about Ricks, but don't know anything about a bad reputation Morgan may have acquired with some. In the interview I saw, he discussed things in a very rational and respectful way. He also told about two sources of unbiased news reporting in the UK, which I may follow, if available in the US. He reminded me of the days when journalists could discuss matters on their merits without an obvious bias in their "reporting."
