Waikiki was an amazing place for island music in the 70s. Bonus. You could walk Waikiki beach at night see the artists playing at thr beachside bars all the way down the beach.

@hawaiiboy I've been enjoying your memories of earlier Hawaii. I lived in Honolulu in early 90s and was excited to learn about the music. I saw Hapa at the zoo, met Israel Kamakawiwo’ole at Tower Records Ala Moana, saw local bands at McGillicuddy's, listened Saturday mornings to Perry & Price on KSSK. Who should I be listening to now?

@antonzuiker great stories. I remember “The wildest show in Town” at the zoo. Used to take my young daughter before I moved to Hawaii island in 91. I use an app called radio garden and listen to KCCN from Honolulu.
