We, in this country, do things to clocks tonight that no one should have to do.
@Archimage Ditto, I’m hoping this is the last time we’ll have to through this pointless exercise.
@pimoore Ditto. When we lived in Indiana, our part of the state was on standard time year-round. It was great, and I never heard any complaints about it.
@JMaxB @pimoore I grew up in Indiana and at the time, the entire state didn't do DST. It was extremely confusing when I moved to a different state for college and the fall time-change happened. "What are you talking about 'We have to change the clocks'!?"
@petebrown @jmaxb DST is the worst, especially that switching to it robs us of an hour of sleep. And around here it’s still light out past 9pm in the summer, which is horrible for sleep hygiene and winding down at night.
@pimoore @petebrown @jmaxb I’m not a fan of DST but I do love the fact it was proposed in a paper by an amateur entomologist in New Zealand as he wanted more time after work to collect bugs!
@Archimage Tonight is about correcting the clocks. Springtime is when we go astray.
@pimoore @annahavron Actually, we never gain or lose an hour, until the end. It just depends on when you die in the cycle.
@petebrown @JMaxB @pimoore Things for which I can't forgive Mitch Daniels, outgoing Purdue President and former Indiana Governor: (1) nagging the legislature into Daylight Savings Time; (2) selling Radio Station WBAA to the barbarians at WFYI in Indianapolis.
