Yes, it’s always a citizen of the U.S.A.’s great civic duty to appear at the local courthouse when summoned for jury service.

As I experienced earlier today, getting one of those dreaded envelopes in the mail is still a bit of a day ruiner. 😩

@dandycat What if you say “I say, let’s hang him!” no matter what the case is, wouldn’t they let you off eventually?

@odd I can't see why they wouldn't! I'm going to have to give that a try this time because whatever I did last time didn't work.

@annahavron I was chosen to serve on a jury the last time I was summoned. It was an interesting experience, and I wasn’t dissatisfied by it. In my one experience, I learned that a trial may move very slowly, there’s a lot of performance art involved, and it’s a hassle when your local courthouse is a half hour away from home.

I hope you’ll get lucky the next time you’re summoned and get placed!
