📲 Google’s response to the request that AI be turned off in schools is pure monopoly. Should’ve done this before, but will be using a new search engine and web browser starting today. Email and other services will be moved by EOY.

@bradleyandroos That’s disgusting. I switched over my search engine/web browser a year ago, but have been dragging my feet on transitioning from gmail. I’ll be interested to hear what you end up pivoting to for email.

@bradleyandroos @bethanyh @cjhubbs @johnbrady another Fastmail fan here, I switched from Gmail a few years ago. Similar enough to Gmail that it wasn’t difficult to switch, plus it has some nice features on its own. I especially like the ability to write little memos for yourself on your emails.

@bradleyandroos As I recall, Fastmail makes it pretty painless to go from gmail to Fastmail, and I like their calendar, too.
@bradleyandroos I’ve switched to kagi search and haven’t looked back. I’m also on fastmail though I still have my gmail account mostly for shopping.
