@nathanrhale I've been burned so much in the past entrusting myself to others in the church, particularly from leadership. However, I still want to be able to entrust myself to another in order to be together in Christ. Coming into Anglicanism was a surrender of sorts towards this entrusting myself to others.

@andrewterry It's very much the same for me. This is a cross-shaped journey, to be sure. I am keenly aware of the risks and actual suffering involved in when it comes to entrusting myself others, especially as we observe Holy Week and what our Lord endured at the hands of his own friends, his own religious institution, his own people. Yet his ultimate entrusting of himself to the Father in this process opened the gates of salvation for you and me.
