The beach was so calm when we went down just after sunrise. I took a brief video looking southwest to Kāpiti Island and another looking north to Mt Ruapehu. Note the sun just touching the waves.

@amit @miraz So serene indeed, and always interesting I think that while Hawaii bakes in its summer, New Zealand is in the middle of winter. So I am imagining, having grown up in England, that morning was crisp and clear?

@crossingthethreshold @amit Well, it could have been crisp and clear, but mainly just clear. Today we have rain and cooler winds, but the last couple of days it was a little warmer than usual for this time of year. It was cool, to be sure, but not cold.
