@vincent I may be the weird person here but I do not use folders for email. I don’t even use flags. If something needs my attention, I leave it unread and deal with it when I can. Search function is so good in Apple Mail and in Outlook (for work) that I stopped trying to put things in a folder.

@vincent Folders can be difficult as something can fall in multiple categories. I think that part of what appeals to people who use gmail.

@vincent Completely forgot that I had that turned on! Need to wake up BEFORE I get on the internet.

@vincent Interesting. I’m going to try this set up as soon as I get to the office. I don’t like folders, but I need them out if necessity. But this could help sort things. Thanks for sharing.

@vincent I always hated folders for mails since I used labels with GMail for the first time.

@amit @vincent I’ve been using the stock iOS Mail app and I miss my Fastmail tags/labels. I’ve never been a fan of folders for email

@JMaxB It really does. For my day job (in outlook), I keep a folder for the current year. Everything gets put in that folder when I’m done processing the email. Then I can do a quick search if I need to pull it up for some reason. Works like a charm.

@vincent I use folders only for emails that I don’t want clogging up my inbox, or for those I can check once a day or even less frequently. I set up rules in Outlook for such emails to go directly there.

@vincent Is it because you think of those status as temporary? I’ve given up on folders too, but use “pinning” in Spark extensively for things I need to keep an eye on, but don’t need to be in my inbox. Never tried multiple, though.
