Password security is far too important to me to be so easily swayed by how cheap the software might be. I also understand this is often not a simple choice; it wasn’t that long ago that we could never dream of even a single recurring subscription for anything.

@simonwoods also the regions and the markets matter. For example, it doesn't cost "just a cup of coffee" a month in many region. It's almost equivalent to meal for a week.

@amit Yes exactly. This is why I think we need to make a lot of changes to the traditional parts of our world -- how time works, human rights (especially with regard to our digital lives), standards for infrastructure -- so that the physical world can better match the positive progress made in the digital world.

Even still, I will continue to consider my password security to be more important than a lot of things so long as I am choosing to exist as an active participant in much of the world in general. I actually think this will change as I get older; I believe I will become less interested with hyper-connected devices and services and so on, and will instead choose to use as few devices as possible with limited connectivity.

@simonwoods "physical world.to match the positive progress in digital world" - that's a loaded expectation there. Rather, our digital world just reflects the imperfections and imbalance of our physical realities.

The problem begins when we start to forget that these differences do exist; a blanket solution would rarely work everywhere.
