Flickr is raising yearly prices by $10 after that sad letter about the state of financials, and I really hope they are not going to shutdown this year. It’s still my favourite photo hosting place.
@alexsavin I just got a pro account for the first time. If they close I guess SmugMug and VSCO are options but that's just not the same... idk maybe FACEBOOK will just win out in the end, inevitably.
@simonwoods I really hope FB would not win. One other option would be self hosting, but that again looses all the benefits of a community - and I do prefer Flickr community to Instagram on any day
@alexsavin Yeah. I'm happy enough relying on my blog + indie networks if it comes down to it but it would still be sad to see Flickr go, what with the accumulated history of the network.
This is also why I'm looking forward to Bokeh.
@alexsavin I am happy about the existence of federated technologies even though it's not currently something that fits into my life. I'll be talking about Bokeh once I get my hands on it, for sure.
