@alans no doubt. Thanks to technology advances though, today I upgraded my grinder for less money than the one being replaced. Plus, will get sweet features in a much smaller form factor.

@bbohling What did you get? A replacement for my old grinder is probably the best reasonably priced upgrade I could make now, while I drool over fancier machines for another year or so.

@alans replacing my Macap M4 with the Eureka Mignon Specialita

@bbohling Oh, that's nice. I've thought about a stepless, but I have to adjust frequently enough (the decaf I use consistently needs a fairly finer grind than the reg) that I'm not sure it would be a good fit for me. Do you think you can reliably adjust between a couple of positions with the Specialita?

@alans I haven’t tested myself between an espresso grind and a courser grind like a pour over, BUT according to the Specialita dial it should be MUCH easier, faster, and better with the Specialita than the Macap...which was one of my requirements when I talked to the experts. I should also note that I was willing to spend $1300 for the big brother, the Eureka Atom 75, but the folks at Clive Coffee assured me that the Specialita was more than capable at meeting my needs.

@bbohling That's great to hear. Clive's also looks like a really good shop. Gonna go do more research.

@alans I have the La Speciale Mini Vivaldi II (for about 10 years), which is an awesome machine. Huge upgrade from Miss Silvia that I had before that, but both machines are sold at Clive Coffee. Very smart people there, so have a chat with them about your interests/requirements and they will steer you right.

@bbohling Awesome, thanks. I have a Lelit that I really love. It's probably close to needing a new pump and solenoid, so I'm starting to maybe think of an upgrade.
