@DaveyCraney super guilty of the same. Sometimes we can't help but wanting to be acknowledged. I try to remind myself many times during the day that I am writing for me and it's OK if no one acknowledges what I put out there. If I'm proud of something, that should be enough.

I added this to my Postroll because I have a very strong feeling it'll resonate with others too.

@DaveyCraney I totally get where you’re coming from but as you also noted, it’s all about how we think about it. I used to expect feedback too but now don’t care as much. The audience’s taste also can be so different from yours.

@jedda Yep, I think it’s just part of human nature to try and seek out some form of acknowledgement. But being honest and just the act of writing or posting your photos, art, poetry whatever is a cathartic action in itself. I try and be mindful of the value in I made this! rather than Look at this everyone!

There’s a value in being humble and going with the flow. I need to remind myself of that.

Anyway, even when no one acknowledges, they can still be looking. I looked at your photo blog the other day after our discussion about Bear and thought wow! there’s some lovely photos on there. But I’m guilty of not actually saying that at the time.

I added this to my Postroll because I have a very strong feeling it'll resonate with others too.

Wow! Thank you.

@pratik Yep. I think this is the way to think about it for sure.

now don’t care as much.

And there’s absolutely a value in that! I really like what you write, how you write it and how honest and open your voice is. The more I embrace it myself the more honest I feel I can write things without overthinking it or worrying about it. (Like that very post).

@DaveyCraney

When our two boats pass we nod or wave at each other. We tell each other to have a nice day. We saw you did X or Y and politely ask a question, make a remark. Then we drift on with our days.

That's exactly what it should feel like lol I love that analogy. More thoughtful than a Like but it doesn't have to be a huge conversation thread either.

@DaveyCraney It takes practice 😋 Someone once told me, no one is thinking about you as much as you think they are.

@DaveyCraney I have similar sentiments. I really struggle to find balance of how to find, consume meaningful or helpful posts here :)

@pratik There’s a great quote from Gary Oldman that I like a lot.

“What other people think of me is none of my business”
