@joshuapsteele Earlier in Luke 15, before we get to the “good stuff,” i.e., lost sheep, lost coin, lost son, there’s this: “And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, ‘This man receives sinners and eats with them.’” Not a minor phrase, but it’s easy to miss in that chapter.
