@rocketpanda wordpress becoming to cumbersome?

Even though squarespace is pretty maintenance free, it’s inconsistent use of markdown and crappy iOS experience made me switch (back) to MB full time. Finally just admitted I’m not doing anything that requires WP or Squarespace.

@adrianizq Same. I have been trying to make Rocket Panda a "pro blog" when in reality I just want a blog. Something I can use to express my feelings and thoughts and just let it be more about self-expression and less about traffic and link click and all of that. Honestly dealing with a lot of the overhead with WordPress has made my writing seem like a chore

@RocketPanda for a non developer, wordpress can be such a hassle. Even though it’s come a long way.

@adrianizq It isn't just that. It is the CDN equivilent for me as when I got a Moleskine notebook for the first time. I wrote my name down but everything else I would write in there would be something that I would carefully write out in a seperate book before I wrote it in the Moleskine because I wanted it to be perfect. Instead of just writing it down I worried about whether it was the most interesting thing in the world. I do the same on WordPress now and it stifles my creativity a lot. I stop before I even reach the starting block.

@RocketPanda I’m going to give you a gift. Tell me how useful it is to you after using it a while. Are you using the classic editor instead of Gutenberg? If so, install this old plugin - wordpress.org/plugins/p... Just having this on has changed...

@RocketPanda ... the way I use WordPress. It’s magical that I open WordPress, write something in, and immediately hit publish. No worrying, no overthinking. Just hit publish. It’ll get Published as private. Only you can see the post. Then, when you mull over it, and edit it a bit

@RocketPanda you’ll notice that all your editing and perfectionism finds a space. It’ll be perfect if you’re moleskinning your WordPress blog. Mind you, only works on the WordPress web app, as it used JS. On mobile, set your posts to private manually. Works wonders. Try it.

@RocketPanda To attest how awesome it is, if you go to my blog’s 2018 page - www.nitinkhanna.com/2018/ you’ll see 25 posts. But when I’m logged in, I see 59 posts. It’s really illuminating and refreshing.

@nitinkhanna this is an interesting thought. Honestly I worry I will just post and post and never really publish anything public.

@RocketPanda would that be so bad? Is the point to write or to publish? For me, it’s been to write. I’m really torn on the question of publishing.
