Having one of those days where I wonder why I bother with the stress of being self-employed.

It’s been nearly a decade since I had a full-time job. Maybe it’s time to go back.

@leonp Just now, the predictable pay cheque seems like a very desirable thing.

@adders Yes, that is very welcome :-)

Don’t forget the huge amount of pointless stuff you do to get that pay cheque, though.

@adders I’ve crossed the five year mark, and not a day goes by without both regretting and thanking the day I left.

@adders Pros and cons, for sure, he said, having hung up the laundry and popped the bread in the oven between pieces of “work”.

@adders On another subject... the beach pics you posted yesterday. The shingle, flat coastline and weird plants reminded me of East Anglia, but I couldn’t place them. Where were they taken?

@leonp Shoreham Beach in West Sussex - it’s a designated nature reserve due to the rare vegetated shingle habitat.

@adders Ta. Reminds me a bit of the coast round Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold, which includes Minsmere.

@adders I sort of semi-retired during the worst of Covid, but really miss my income now, so I’ve taken part-time work in my general field of ministry that seems to be a great fit. The money is good and I’m doing work I enjoy, plus I have lots of time for personal interests. Maybe part-time would be an option?

@leonp I know that area well — my parents retired to a village near Halesworth. There are points of similarity, for sure.
