@patrickrhone Absolutely. All these things can be simultaneously true. But he has managed to almost completely knock the massive economic contraction out of the headlines. And I think it’s probably good to get that back up there.

@JMaxB Honestly, I read it as he cannot legally do it, and no more than that. But my main point wasn’t that about that, it was about the news he’s successfully distracting the media from. I think the last paragraph of the piece is the most important.

@bix Oh, there are certainly problems with the piece. But my experience of reading it was defined by the spray of coffee I released when I reached the news that the US economy has shrunk by ⅓ - which had been completely buried in my feeds by the Trump tweet.
