👓 The new glasses arrived today with progressive lenses in them. My first pair of progressives and they feel a little disorientating at the moment. I sense that I'll get use to them, but for now I think that I'll be switching back and forth between the new glasses and the old.

@crossingthethreshold That's normal with those. Stick with them and you'll get used to them in a day or two.

@crossingthethreshold It took me two days but I like them so much better than traditional bi/tri-focals!

@clorgie I'm currently carrying around two pairs of glasses and am hoping to leave that behind.

@crossingthethreshold Yeah, progressives take some time to adjust to. The hardest time I still have is working on a computer with them. I always get computer glasses too.

@jimmitchell I haven't tried the progressives with the computer yet. For now I am sticking with the Old Faithfuls.

@crossingthethreshold I ended up with two pairs of progressives: one optimized for the workspace (computer and reading), the other for everything else. I can do everything with eithe, but it's a real relief on the eyes to switch to the workspace pair when working/reading.

@clorgie This is interesting and comforting to hear. Two days in and I find myself resorting to my off-the-shelf readers for computer work, everything else with my progressives. As you say, my eyes are relieved when I make the move.
