Lately my job seems to be about making sure Mastodon doesn’t turn into a denial-of-service attack on my servers. 🙂 Sorry for the flakiness today, partially caused by how we were handling a flood of messages from Mastodon.technology’s impeding shutdown. Fixed the issue.
@www.manton.org wow I just checked my logs and I've also been getting about 1800 delete requests per day from it.
By my count that means about 6 more days of this before they finish sending deletes for all the accounts.
@ayjay Yeah, the last month has been very distracting as far as that is concerned. Looking forward in 2023 to refocusing on what is unique about Micro.blog.
@manton ActivityPub really feels like a mess. I hope when things settle you can catch someone’s ear about it.
@manton Is there a way to tell if a M.b user has ActivityPub/Mastodon “turned on” for their account? Or do they all at this point?
@cdevroe Not everyone does yet. You can tell by visiting their web profile and it has a "Mastodon: username" section now if it's enabled.
