@toddgrotenhuis the inside has a three-ring mechanism for loose leaf papers (currently part of my “task management system”). The main inside pocket is pretty big, 12” x ~8.5” x ~1.25”. I use that pocket for iPad with magic keyboard and whatever magazines I’m currently reading through. Will need to figure out what size notebooks could fit in that pocket but definitely on the larger end for sure. Hoping to get all of the details captured in a blog post and shared out.
@aa that looks like a lovely piece. I’ve recently found myself shifting back to more paper note taking and have begun to miss an old leather compendium I had that fitted my notepad and iPad perfectly. Looking forward to seeing what you have hidden inside design-wise.
@meandering I always go back to paper, just perfect in every way. Hoping to have details of this case outlined and shared in more detail shortly, this is the “largest” version that I envision…I always tend to over complicate in general so that’s where this beta version starts. Plan to have simplified versions from here on. If you don’t mind sharing, what size iPad and notebook did you carry in your leather case?
@aa I kept an A5 notebook and my 9.7” iPad in it. When I purchased my first ipad I had it and an A4 notebook together in a larger case but downsized to the A5 notebook & smaller case after about a year. The size of each complemented each other and the smaller case was much better for travelling.
@aa For a time I was iPad only and wrote all my notes on that but I’ve returned to notebook and iPad in the last few months. A number of colleagues use the Remarkable tablet but I prefer paper. In part because I love a good pen to write with.
@meandering with you on the good pen :-) I go between my Pelikan M600 and Lamy 2000. What pens do you enjoy writing with?
@aa I quite like Lamy pens and the one I have consistently used for years is a basic Lamy Al-Star rollerball. I still like to do some old school editing to drive my team nuts when I give them back a paper document with edits all through it and this is the one I prefer for that as well as scribbling notes in meetings. My other two regularly used are both fountain pens - a Lamy Aion and a Diplomat Aero.
