@a_seagull_story Dark to light gray, usually. But the wall faces east, so in the mornings they are orange tinged. In the evenings after the sun goes behind the ridge, they have a bluish tinge. And further down the wall there are spires of pink granite.

@a_seagull_story Well, more rock, of course. Not very romantic. But a geologist told us the Sierra has no roots, something recently discovered. The Himalaya have a huge basalt base that support their height. They theorized the Sierra had such a base and it fell off and into the mantle, causing the Sierra to pop upwards. I thought that was pretty cool.
