@tinyroofnail I wish I had bought in last year when it was half the price. LPII still going strong, though. No chance I could justify or afford LPIII at its full price

@JohnBrady I think they’ll be true to their word. I certainly hope so; my high view of them is bound up with their longevity model. Though I wonder if 4G/LTE might be eventually be a problem for Light II?
@jonah Getting in with a $400 tag was the reason I took the bait as soon as I heard. Retail price would be a hard pill to swallow. I have to remind myself that they don’t have the gigantic market others do and that they aren’t subsidizing with data collection/sales. I’ve heard a few people mention 10-year+ longevity, and if true, would certainly help justify it.
@tinyroofnail LTE is already an issue– it stopped being useful as a hotspot w/verizon. it will go away like LPI when LTE is phased out. which may be a little while but will happen. Increasingly a mobile phone is taking the place of home phone: universal contact, but most comms are outside SMS
@tinyroofnail Really interested how you find this. i’ve been playing with a minimal launcher on my iPhone and quite like it. (I’m especially curious about the camera!)
@jonah is LTE so old already that it is phased out again? Either I’m mixing something up in my head or I’m completly out of it. Is LTE not the follow up standart after 5G. At least in my mind LTE is still like the modern and most recent thing you want to have if possible.
@ChrisJWilson It might be a while but I’ll certainly post about it. It might be a bit before I can even use it since they rolled it out before they had carrier approvals.
What minimalist app are you using? Every time I’ve tried them, it ends in bitterness. The unsupported workaroundy-ness drives me mad before I can settle into them.
@tinyroofnail I’ve been using blank or “__” it is a bit frustrating but has been a nice change from how I’ve had things set up before. I still have some other app based homepages that seem to magically reappear at times (I think there are some bugs from my over ambitious focus modes when they first came out).
Taking your time before giving a review of a phone like this feels appropriate to be honest!
@ChrisJWilson Do you have a link to this app that you could share? I can’t find it (I was looking on the Apl Store). I have not tried any of them to date, but have been considering diving in.
