@amerpie it is hard to make new friends as an adult. I'm glad there is the internet for such a thing. What I also find interesting is that a good part of my real live friends started out on the web. And I've actually meet my wife this way – in a good old forum.
@amerpie a lot of friends I've made in my adult life have come from some sort of work setting (whether mine or my partners). But then there other half of it are also people I've met online (used to be via Instagram)... the photography community whether it be street or food.
I'm super new to the IndieWeb space but I, too, have e-met some really awesome people that I already call my friends and would like to meet in person one day.
@amerpie Great post. I appreciate your transparency and authenticity. I too don't have many in-person friends, but it's by choice. Those who I would call a friend came mostly through my wife's friends. I wouldn't call them close enough friends to depend on in a time of need. If you're ever in SoCal, let me know.
@jimmitchell My last trip to SoCal (other than LAX layovers) was in 1986 when I was in the Army, but if I make it out that way again, you can be assured I'll let you know. I want to hear the tsunami alarm. Thanks for the invite.
