I’m continuing my project of relearning how to read books. Remembering that as a voracious teenage reader, I would discover an author and read everything I could find by him, until I was caught up or had at least read everything by that author in the local mall bookstores and libraries.... mitchw.blog

@MitchW I also like reading multiple books by the same author. Especialy the authors I like. And the earlier works by them to see how they developed their skill.

@V_ @Lynessence In my teens and 20s when I depended on the vagaries of bookstores and the library, I read books in whatever order I could get my hand on them. Now I'm a chronoligical completist--publication order!

I remember with the Spenser novels it was fun to read the later books first, and then jump to earlier volumes and see him meet Susan Silverman, Hawk, and Paul Giacomin.

@MitchW I am usually very particular about reading in publishing order. I don't know why my behaviour changed for the Connelly books. They don't need to be read in order, but things do make a lot more sense if they are.

@MitchW @Lynessence I usually don't look on the publishing order. But there is also only one author I'm currently trying to read everything but that project is still ongoing (Discworld Series) and I select it mostly by title and mood.
