One of my many hot takes is that people have generally fled to either “AI can’t do anything” or “AI can do everything” and haven’t stopped to consider the middle ground. There is an art to getting AI to do what you want. It will rarely do it by default.
@danielpunkass I often find myself in the middle. I work on embedded Linux devices and find that is quite good at any task it has a reference for, but if you are doing something somewhat novel,it has a hard time giving you something more useful. In fact, the other day my coworker shared that Claude asked him how to solve the problem 🤓
@danielpunkass That said, TBH, I’m not convinced at a society level that the benefits out weight the costs when you consider what the large data centers powering AI do the environment.
