Firefox now supports creating and using passkeys stored in the iCloud Keychain on macOS.
@SimonWoods For years, I used 1Password and Firefox. But since switching to iCloud Keychain, I've primarily used Safari because the integration works so well. If Firefox could integrate iCloud Keychain well (including passkeys), then I'm a Firefox user again.
@KyleEssary @SimonWoods I use 1Password because it's cross-platform (though I'm currently all Apple) and above all because I know how to share with my wife. If I knew sharing iCloud Keychains was easy-peasy, I might save the 1Password fees.
@ReaderJohn @KyleEssary Sharing Apple Passwords did just become a thing, which was one of the reasons we left 1Password — though had the folks at AgileBits maintained the quality of their product then this might not have happened at all — and it can be done on both the Mac and on mobile. The reason I know this is because I was also actively awaiting the feature; at this point most Apple events sort-of wash over me but when they announce features that make family stuff easier I am all ears.
And yeah, the Firefox update has me now keeping an eye on it again. Safari still lacks the level of customisation I had grown accustomed to, which is especially annoying since it's part of my work.
