@JohnPhilpin I noticed this myself over the past few years. My idle thought is that we're now entering a period of time in which we are the average lifespan of years away from when media became widespread in a way that had never happened previously. As such, it is much more likely that we'll recognise the names and faces of people who pass away and do so in a way that feels oddly intimate considering these people are, strictly speaking, strangers.

@JohnPhilpin I wonder if the status of these people will be altered as it inevitably becomes a much more common occurrence. We do tend to attach less value to recurring events.
