@vincent oof. Yeah, it does seem like you’d get the repair and then it’ll just break again; at least, that’s what lots of people were saying about each version of those machines. Given how good the newer machines are in that and other ways, waiting is the best decision.
That is crappy, though… still feel like the company has failed to appropriately address this mess.

It reminds me of the regret I have for choosing the cheapest configuration on the iMac. I was a little surprised by how relatively complicated choosing a Mac can be, since before I got interested in the company (after getting my first iPhone) one of the big selling points from the fans was how everything was simpler and easier from the start. No doubt it’s better than my experiences with Windows but that’s not supposed to be the high bar that, again, the evangelists claim is normal for Apple.
Not that I have any interest in going any other way, at least not for personal/mixed use. Still feels too much like the best of a bad bunch rather than the proclaimed cut above the rest.
