…. and all other variations that you find in the opening spiel of Podcasts, YouTubes and Newsletters.
Here’s my offer. You stop using these words in your intros … and I’ll engage again.

@JohnPhilpin I was making a truly terrible joke although it's also relevant in itself. The overtly meta nature of online dialogue has probably contributed to this stilted style of presentation; I'm not a fan either, since apart from anything else it feels like these people are comfortable wasting the time of everybody involved.
@JohnPhilpin The rocks are nice and cool, though. If there was no dog connection, that joke would have been ejected from my brain a long time ago.
@JohnPhilpin "What's up! This is [name] from blah blah blah… opening music … opening titles … Today we're gonna talk about… So let's jump right in…" Two minutes since the start and finally they get somewhere near the topic. Yuck!

I don’t know what podcast player you use but I’ve been riding the 30 second skip ahead button since 2004.

Re that spin forward .. yes, I use it in the opening ads all the time .. but in all honesty it’s the YouTube newsletter brigade I have the most problem with.
YouTube because they get auto served .. podcasts I curate.
