🍿 Netlix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, AppleTV+, HBO Max! And not a single one has Everything Everywhere All at Once available to stream yet. I’d have to purchase it on RakutenTV. Don’t think so. Sorry.

@maique it was a simple time when there were only a couple streaming services.

@nickkaczmarek Yes. And even simpler before that, when all we needed was a decent torrent search engine...

@maique what I’ve done is light up a Real-Debrid account and use Kodi with the Seren add-on. I’ve eliminated all my streaming services.

@danielmrose Thanks. I had to DuckDuckGo "Real-Debrid", "Kodi", and "Seren", just to get started 🤣😅 And I can't say the sites look great to start with... I might look into it in the future, but the quickest way to solve this problem was going back to an easier time, and the film is already available to watch. Let's just say it required launching an app called "Transmi" + something... 😉

@maique The easiest of times was when you just paid for what you wanted and owned it. And then you were left alone to enjoy it however you liked, you know, like a person with a life and stuff.

@vincent @maique You're damned right I owned my tapes; I knew what was on each and every one, recorded and re-recorded, the art of seeking, the STOP button!

Now instead I manage some invisible bits and stop caring about TV shows that are popular or supposedly good because fuck if I have time for all of that dicking around on any given day. It is tiring.

@maique @vincent Oh yes, DVD was a brilliant balance. So much so that we're gradually bringing it back; our household will include all of the streaming nonsense but we will have a foundation of physical media for the most important things.

@maique Remember when Netflix really had nothing to do with the ‘net? God I loved getting obscure comedies in my mailbox. I saw the brilliant Kathy & Mo Show that way, and Girls on Top too!

@UndamnedOne I remember those times, because I read about it. Not sure if their shipping included us over here in Europe...

@maique @vincent DVD is still my favourite format. I never jumped onto anything higher (like blue ray). Once my too big TV dies, I am also hoping to replace it with something much smaller again (so that definition doesn't play a too important role).

However, I am still very much streaming most my content (mostly bought stuff). Not big on Disney+ because they give me weird "content" warnings for some old stuff. Totally alienating. We have Prime, but hardly touch it, because the quality is terrible (worse than DVD).

@yurkevich I don’t think we have it here. Just went looking for it, again, and it’s not showing, I’m afraid. Different countries, different catalogs.
