Seeing people engage in the same miserable, moaning, repetitive dialogue about other social platforms is not exactly encouraging when I think about Micro.blog.

I have done this myself, and am attempting to no longer fall prey to these shallow distractions.

I hope others do too.

I think this platform can be much better than merely the place where people go to complain about the other platforms.

Lots of people on Micro.blog do so much more than that, which is great. I hope it eventually becomes the case that everybody on Micro.blog does so much more than that.

With that in mind, I’m going to spend less time allowing myself to get drawn into those conversations and instead guide my attention to the good stuff.

Not just with regard to replying, either; also reading. I’m establishing a basic behaviour of completely ignoring the bad stuff, as if they are adverts, and pouring all of my energy into the effort of contributing in the most constructive ways possible.
