TIL 1.9 is here 🎉 And with it a brand new banner...

The new banner for Today I Learned, consisting of a row of icons in a bordered rounded rectangle.

Also:

  • 🆕 The Insight Program, the first membership available for TIL is now live.
  • 🆕 Design features throughout the site, and Micro.blog and Twitter profiles.
  • Several design improvements and fixes.
  • Newsletter and custom email secured for a year.

That and more can be read about in the announcement.

@simonwoods I don't get it. Why is TIL an unofficial microblog companion? Did you hand out mis-information? I don't think so. TIL should be a fully official microblog companion! I have usually found your advice & explanations to be very helpful, often easier to understand than official help documents. Why is Manton keeping this at arms length, rather than endorsing it? He should fully endorse it, support it and provide you with a computer if you need it to do your work. 💻

@Ron You're too kind again, Ron! It would be brilliant if there was some sort of charitable program for partnerships with Micro.blog, or something along those lines... though I dare say only larger companies have the capacity for that kind of activity.

Hopefully the new types of resources I'll soon be publishing will also be worth the support of the community; a number of people have already contributed which surprised me to begin with, and the community is very supportive as a whole. Of course Micro.blog has been hosting TIL for quite a while now, so without that support the project would not exist at all.

I've got my fingers crossed for the next few months and hope that my efforts will result in success enough to make TIL truly valuable.
