Facebook Moderator Says Karaoke Recommended for Traumatized Workers

When you look around the world - oh say like what’s happening in Gaza / Israel this makes me puke.

Those poor poor Facebook workers that are so traumatized … they don’t even know what it means.

@JohnPhilpin I think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick, John. Did you read the post?

@simonwoods I did - and just ran through it again to try to understand the stick … what am I missing?

Yes I get the videos … but not quite the same as expecting a bomb to land on you at any moment - taking family, house, your very being away - and people of the world care so little it’s barely reported.

Where are their counselors?
Where is our outrage?

@JohnPhilpin People are protesting on the streets. That is where our outrage is, and rightly so. We’re going to have to remember that the fucking internet is NOT the world, John. Very easy to believe it is and get riled by the endless cycle of bullshit so easily peddled by idiots on here.

The stick… in case you missed the fairly well reported of Facebook moderators over the past few years, let me just say this: they are treated like shit much in the way Uber drivers are, for example, and go through their own hell.

I don’t think for one second we’re helping people in one bad situation by putting them into a contest with people in another bad situation. And I’ve found people who try to actually fix things think this way; in fact, that is a big part of the reason why I think this way.
