@writingslowly thanks for sharing these! It’s always comforting to see that other people share these ideas and concerns. Education has been so distorted. I taught for a bit and it’s crazy how many students didn’t seem to be in college to… learn things. 🙈 Hope we can get things back on track soon.

@SimonPeng you’re welcome. Many reasons to engage with formal education:

  • that’s what you do at that age,
  • to get the grade for the next thing,
  • some don’t know why they’re there,
  • to learn things, even.

It’s frustrating to see systems that exploit these aspirations. Worse than AI are student loans.
