No score in the fifth inning. Tonight’s game could be another long one.

Random trivia: the longest professional baseball game was a 33 inning game played by the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium in 1981.

@johnbrayton The announcers are saying the pitchers are doing a great job, but are they? Or are the batters just very ineffective? Are all pitchers on both teams unhittable? 15 innings in a row last night for the Dodgers without an earned run. I don't understood what is going on!

@Ron The games in Boston were 8-4 and 4-2, so I tend to attribute this more to good pitching than bad hitting. But it is hard to know.

@johnbrayton Yes, and finally a team has a big inning. Boston has lost their momentum. Did their catcher really have to try for the double play, when it was obvious the batter was blocking the path for his throw? Why not be happy with the one easy out at the plate?

@Ron Yeah, things went bad for Boston quickly.

@johnbrayton But they're showing some life now! Have these five sec TV ads in the middle of an inning been going on for a long time? Or is this a new MLB greed innovation? Disgusting interruptions.

@rmcrob Yes, this is real baseball, unlike that pathetic display of futility last night.

@Ron Oh, just listen to the radio. Forget TV.

@rmcrob I did that for the last five innings last night, so my wife could sleep.
