I wax lyrical about a favourite BBC Two programme about repairing and restoring much-loved items.

@AlanRalph I think it’s a great thing to try to do. It’s a good way to save money, but it’s the right thing to do even if you don’t have to.
@bsag This is great, thank you. Love your take on it. I've not heard of the show but now intend to binge on it right away!
@bsag. It sounds like a show I would enjoy. Do you know whether it is something I'd be able to watch from the Midwest in the US, or is it only available on UK TV?
@jack I hope you can access it somewhere! A couple of days ago we watched an episode with a gorgeous folding Corona typewriter, which would be right up your street!
@Ron I don’t know but I guess it might be on BBC America if you have access to that? It is made by the BBC but they do sell many shows to networks worldwide, so you might be able to find it.
@bsag Well the first episode was terrific, in which they repaired a chiming clock, which had belonged to the woman's father who brought it in and an accordian which belonged to another woman's grandmother, who had played it for people in bomb shelters during the war. Everyone was terrifically pleased when each piece was revealed upon completion, both working again like brand new. Then somehow something got into my eye at that point and I had to wipe away some fluid from the corners of my eyes. Thanks so much. I will definitely be watching a lot more of these shows!
@Ron Funny that, I also often find that dust or something gets in my eyes whenever I watch it 😉
