Mazie was awarded Rookie of the Year by her softball coach. She had a great season with GAL.
@jthingelstad In what areas did she excel? As a pitcher, a hitter, great defense, great offense?
Being in your family, I think she has more experience than most in playing games of all kinds, which may have helped her on the team.

@Ron she played mostly 2nd base. It was her first time playing softball since she played T-ball forever ago. Such a generous and kind compliment Ron, thank you. Dad is the most important role I have.
@jthingelstad Yes it is and it's really great that you realize that. I had a good dad like you are. Every summer he got a two week, then three week, then four week vacation. We drove all around the country, to see great nat'l parks, to visit all the important places in DC, to Niagara Falls, and on & on. It was an important extension of our education! We were learning every day and learning compassion and respect for all kinds of people.
I remember a picture you posted of your family standing in front of a giant sign at the entrance to a nat'l park. I immediately thought, "Yes, yes, yes!! That's the way to do it!"
