@frankm I was taught Fortran at Oberlin in 1966-67. A professor hired me that summer to do Fortran for his research. I could do easy stuff. Fortunately the folks I was living with included a guy who actually knew how to do Fortran. When I got stuck, he bailed me out. The professor never knew the source of my brilliance. @frankm I had never looked back and realized the first paying job I had after graduating from college was as a Fortran programmer!! I loved the article you linked to, which said, "That’s the beauty of the things that work; they don’t have to change much." My brother wrote the software for a US military weather satellite in the 70's. The company hired him again in the last decade. They were still using his same software on that weather satellite.
