He’s right, … It is the technology that’s to blame. Same with IoT, my toaster and fridge don’t need to connect to the Internet. And I’m pretty convinced keyless cars are an attempt to fix something that wasn’t broke to begin with.

@bradenslen Of course I agree with you, Brad. But you know what else it made me think of? Micro.blog. In the beginning I tried to keep up with some of the changes Manton made. But that didn't last long before I quit trying to keep up. It was too hard. In the last couple of weeks, Manton has unleashed a whole new round of amazing upgrades. But now people are complaining about some of their messages are not getting through. I didn't even read about what all these great new features would do, so postings about messages not getting through doesn't bother me much. I suppose Manton will get it sorted out one day. But I'm not a blogging tools hobbyist. I just want to easily write about something when it interests me, in a quick, fluid way.

When I want to write about something that really matters to me, I use Dave Winer's 1999.io. He hasn't improved upon it in years, but it's pretty darn easy and attractive, the way I like it.

@bradenslen Follow-up #2. I stumbled onto this long posting which documents some extensive hacking of Apple websites. So much for their claims of superior security. Maybe all computing has become so complex that all sorts of unintended consequences are the result. So it's not just Manton.
