I found out from a total stranger that Arthur Holmes’s entire History of Philosophy class at Wheaton is posted on YouTube. And I am…85% sure I am in that room! I recognize so many friends by the backs of their heads. What a gift to have this series at all, and what a set of memories it holds.
@ablerism What a nice little surprise. I’ve seen a few of these videos pop up on YT from time to time. They seemed good. Someone should get them up as audio files to listen offline.
@ablerism Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in decades! I only attended Wheaton for 40 semester hours before foolishly going to a far inferior college.

@joshuapsteele I always thought straight up British but I agree, upon hearing it again — hard to place! (Especially with his swashbuckling “ya seeeee” interspersing regularly, so charming.) I’ll do some research.
@joshuapsteele Dover, England, which I read has (had maybe more so in his era?) elements of a Kentish dialect. So, just highly localized old-school accent?
