@JohnPhilpin Iām keeping my subscription for the Games but when it comes time to renew Iāll try to find a Games-only tier. I grew up worshiping the Times. In a way I started writing professionally because I wanted to see my byline in the Times. No more. Iād rather write captions for porn flicks.
@JohnPhilpin Oh, heavens! Youād better stay away from the Wall Street Journal if you think NYT is sanewashing!
@ReaderJohn Aah yes - I might argue that this is another āfalse equivalencyā.
If i might do a little remix on Scott Galloway?
> Money laundering is done in secret, because it requires hiding the source of money. Money washing hides in plain sight, because thatās the point (appearances). Money washers merely ask the broader community to ignore the moneyās origins.
<p class=āattributionā>š¬ Scott Galloway</p>
In the media I think that the NYT is in the Money Laundering equivalent, what they write to the passing observer can sound ok - itās only when you start seeing the patterns or start going down a couple of levels that you sit up and think āwha ā¦ā
Meanwhile, over in Jeffās periodical, it is far more obvious - and much more in the money washing equivalency.
@JohnPhilpin Sounds like youāre speaking from experience, tbh. Are you John Holmesā son?
@combatdavey I think you might have me confused with the other ššØš¼āš¾ John Philpin.
