@ani omg that must have been very scary for you guys. I can totally imagine and it can be so stressful. A couple of years ago a fairfax county police helicopter landed in our kids elementary as part of a “drill” but nobody knew! The kind of stress and scare it caused us was horrendous - and you had to go through it twice in two days. Ugh. This country is going down the drain.

@stupendousman super hard to believe it is happening until it is happening. I’m took the day to go to the school with R and we stood outside for a couple of hours with other parents until dismissal.

@ani How horrendous! You're basically living in a state of domestic terror over there in the US. I hope the school is able to offer some kind of counselling sessions for students en masse to explain the feelings and useful approaches to deal with them. BTW: wouldn't normally mention a typo but your title says 'workshop' rather than 'worship'. I understood what you meant though.

@ani Insane. The impact of living in this constant state of fear of what may happen in schools is crazy. We have already gotten two emails this year about schools being put in lockdown because of threats via social media. Either it's some kid who may be playing a pranks or crazies in Texas who have decided to now hate on schools.

@Miraz @ani I live in a midwestern metro area of somewhere around 200,000 people, and seemingly random violent crime has risen hugely since my childhood here. I left a symphony concert at 9:30 last night, downtown, and wondered about drive-by shooting as I walked a block to my car.

@ReaderJohn @ani Urgh. That was a time when you should have had splendid music running through your head, not a concern about a random shooting…
